Gift Guide

This was a really fun gift guide to do! Amazon has such a great selection!! My two oldest kids are runners so this gave me some good ideas for presents for them. My oldest struggles with shin splints so I think I’m going to try the calf massager. And both my kids swear by the compression sleeves. They both wear them and have significantly helped their shin splints and other leg issues. You can’t go wrong with liquid IV too. My kids drink those ;). I am intrigued by the ear buds because they are specifically supposed to stay in your ears while running. They look like they’d work! Check out the gift guide! There’s lots of goodies in here! Ok so this one got left off the list above by accident, but then I realized it’s perfect because it’s my favorite one! It deserves it’s own post 😉 I have this same dress in navy blue and it’s SO flattering and beautiful and very comfortable. You’ll get a million compliments on it. (I did!) 🙂 You may need a little cardigan over it if you’re cold easily because the sleeves are so lightweight and airy. But inside I think you’ll be fine! Let me know if you snag this one! 😉

Sister-in-law gift guide

I was seventeen when my oldest brother got married and I finally had a sister! It’s a moment I’ll never forget. AMAZON WINTER BOOTS

Well, I don’t know about you, but it’s getting cold where I live and I’ve started pulling out some of my cold weather boots. Of course there’s always room for a few new pairs, right? 😉 Most of these are on sale too, so yay! A girl can never have too many boots, well at least that’s my philosophy 😉 But if you ask my hubby that’s not the case! Ha!

And believe me there were even more I wanted to include on this list but just had to pick a few. I had to include Sorel’s because those are one of my absolute favorite boot brands. I have 4 pairs! Let’s talk about jeans ladies…

Ok this is something that needs to be discussed! I had a reader question the other day about jeans for short girls who may have a few curves 😉 Finding jeans that you feel comfortable in and accentuate the right places can be really hard and exhausting. It’s always been a struggle for me to find jeans that aren’t too long! And don’t even get me started on trying to find jeans that aren’t too tight on the butt and too loose in the waist. Oh man has it been hard. Lately I’ve been wearing jeans from Levis, Old Navy, and Target. I decided to pick out three and show you those!

This first pair of jeans is from Old Navy and its the Low Rise Rockstar Super Skinny in the Woodland Wash color. I really love these jeans. They fit me really well in the legs and butt, which is a hard feat! They have a very comfortable stretch which is nice 🙂 The color is a little brighter blue so I find I can’t wear them with everything, but that’s okay. I always have to get the short inseam and luckily these have that available. I do still have to roll the bottom a bit but not too much. The downside of being 5’2″ 😉

The second pair is from the Universal Threads brand at Target. I absolutely love this brand in jeans, shirt, and shoes! But back to jeans 🙂 This pair I did size down one size and I’m glad I did. I also of course bought the short inseam. This is a must for me. They are the Mid Rise Skinny in the medium wash color. This color pretty much goes with most things. They hold you in and give you more back coverage so no need to worry about revealing too much 😉 In the description it says they “smooth and sculpt” and I do agree with that. That can’t be a bad thing, right?! We could all use a little help in that area 🙂 Well, maybe not if you’ve never had kids, but that’s another topic!

The last pair is the Signature by Levi Strauss & Co. Gold Label Modern Skinny in the Stormy Sky color. This is a darker pair of jeans. They are Mid Rise and skinny through the hip and thigh. The leg opening is skinny too. They are super stretchy and SO comfortable. I would venture to say they accentuate your curves just right 😉 I ended up losing about 11 lbs so mine are a bit too big now, but when they did fit I did not feel like they lost shape or bagged out. I love a good pair of dark jeans. I also own these same jeans in a lighter wash, the Cape Town color. These ones are just as good!

A little about me!

I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 16 yrs. We met in college 🙂 We have 3 beautiful kids together and a very blessed life. I enjoy all summer activities mostly because I just love the sun and feeling warm. But I also really enjoy skiing with my family in the winter. Yes, it’s cold, but thankfully there’s a lodge I can warm up in and hot coffee is never far 🙂 I love to shop and find good deals and find cute outfits that I feel comfortable in.

I started this blog mostly to show cute and budget friendly outfits and things I really love and use in my life. I’m excited to see it grow and evolve! Thanks for following me in this journey. 🙂
